London is looking. From defiant practice writers to highly effective large-scale muralists, over 100 worldwide artists will probably be featured in BEYOND THE STREETS LONDON, opening this February 17—Might 9, 2023. The exhibition, supported by adidas Originals, would be the most complete graffiti & avenue artwork exhibition to open within the UK, and is ready to take over all three flooring of London’s iconic Saatchi Gallery.
Following profitable exhibitions in Los Angeles & New York, BEYOND THE STREETS LONDON will characteristic new works, large-scale installations, unique ephemera and extraordinary vogue that seize the highly effective impression of graffiti & avenue artwork the world over.
Curated by graffiti historian Roger Gastman, BEYOND THE STREETS LONDON will look at the elemental human want for public self-expression, highlighting artists with roots in graffiti and avenue artwork whose work has developed into extremely disciplined studio practices, alongside essential cultural figures impressed by this artwork scene.
Every of the exhibition’s chapters will discover distinctive moments within the historical past of this inventive motion; together with the emergence of punk; the delivery of hip-hop – marking its fiftieth anniversary in 2023; and avenue tradition’s sturdy affect in vogue and movie.
