Hashimoto ContemporaryThey are happy to announce their participation in Art Miami.Since 2013, the gallery has been exhibiting at the Miami art fairs and is thrilled to be participating in Art Miami for the 3rd time. The booth will feature new and current works by Kim Cogan and Francisco Diaz Scotto(Pastel), Erik Jones and Jean Jullien.
Kim Cogan’s oil paintings utilize the expressive nature of the medium to represent the many moods and environs of American cities. Cogan avoids iconic views of New York, Chicago, or his adopted home of San Francisco, instead focusing on more common sights such as alleyways and homes, cemeteries and residential neighborhoods. Francisco Diaz Scotto, (Pastel) uses local Argentinian flora to inspire his paintings. He uses memories and emotions of his past as a missionary to create works that depict a variety of home scenes and outdoor jungles, as well as the occasional house dog. Erik Jones is a contemporary artist based in Florida. His work is vibrant, colorful, and reflects a higher sense of realism captured by his subjects. It is juxtaposed with sporadic marking and nonrepresentational form. Jean Jullien, a French artist who lives and works in Paris, is Jean Jullien. His work spans painting and illustration through to video, photography, costume, book, posters, and clothing. This creates a cohesive yet eclectic body.
So Youn Lee is well-known for her dreamlike, ethereal aesthetic that features explosions of colors, textures, and focuses around a child-like character named Mango. This character reflects Lee’s contemplation of what can be the essence human being’ and depicts the ideals as well as the struggles of human existence, both as aliens or voyagers. American visual artist Pat Perry is based in a small Detroit neighborhood on Detroit’s East Side. The artist works primarily in painting and drawing, photography, and large-scale outdoor mural installation. Rachel Strum, an abstract artist, is based in Dallas. She uses acrylic paint, aerosol and poured epoxy to create layers of images that examine and question the constructions of time and space.
