Portalblau Awaits Suu, Manu Guix And Judit Neddermann

After a brief three-day hiatus, the Portalblau de L’Escala-Empúries festival takes up its activity starting on Thursday with a long weekend in which artists such as Suu, Manu will pass through the Mar d’en Manassa stage. Guix and Judit Neddermann (in all three cases, with the tickets already sold out).

Before them, the main stage of the festival will host on Thursday a show created expressly for the Portalblau from the dramatized reading of the ‘Faula d’Orfeu’ , the best-known composition by Josep Sebastià Pons (1886-1962), in the that the Roussillon poet evokes his wife Elena, who had died 30 years before, and connects his memory with the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice.

Three actors (Carme Callol, Jaume Comas and Mercè Managuerra) and two musicians (Jesús López and Nora Bosch) will bring the poem to the stage under the direction of Rosa Vergés .

Friday will be Suu’s day (Susana Ventura), who will offer at the festival a performance tailored to the space in which she will alternate her most popular songs with pieces from her collection of poems ‘Fauna o amor’ .

Also unique is the format chosen by Manu Guix for his concert on Saturday July 31, since it will be the public who will be able to choose the repertoire. On Sunday, Judit Neddermann will reel the songs from her fourth album, ‘Aire’, at the Mar d’en Manassa. And on Monday, at the Jardí Clos del Pastor, Alba Carmona will present ‘Songs of Folklore’ , a contemporary tribute to Sephardic, Latin American and Spanish popular songs.
