Christine and the Queens will curate the 2023 version of Meltdown Competition on London’s South Financial institution. He picks up the mantle from Grace Jones, who helmed this year’s edition, and follows curators together with David Bowie, Patti Smith, and Scott Walker. A mixture of ticketed exhibits and free outside live shows, the pageant will run from June 9-18. The primary acts can be introduced within the spring.
In a press launch, Christine and the Queens, also referred to as Redcar, stated, “I’ll really choose musicians which have some gut-wrenching high quality, and I want for all of us to walk round in these ten days being rejuvenated by inventive gestures. Discoveries. The time Meltdown takes is sort of beautiful, the abundance feels appropriately beneficiant too. We want this for ourselves, artwork within the metropolis, artwork for the citizen, collective catharsis, an exquisite purge of the soul.
