Foment And Santander Promote Plan For Early Diagnosis Of Covid

Foment and Banco Santander promote a plan for the early diagnosis of covid. The entity and the employer have designed a plan to promote early diagnosis among essential and third sector workers, which could cover between 1,500 and 1,800 people.

The employers’ association Foment del Treball and Banco Santander promote a coronavirus detection plan through rapid antigen tests (DetecTAR Plan) for the early diagnosis of covid in essential and third sector workers, which could cover between 1,500 and 1,800 people. As reported by both entities, it is a public-private collaboration project in which the Generalitat de Catalunya also participates.

The plan aims to facilitate the arrival of rapid diagnostic antigen tests to the largest possible number of workers with active coronavirus infection in essential sectors and the third sector. Thus, it prioritizes testing personnel from companies in the meat sector, including slaughterhouses, and workers who provide care and home care services to the population at risk.

It is about quickly identifying and isolating close contacts, which is essential to control the pandemic. These antigen tests must have a sensitivity greater than 90% and a specificity greater than 98% during the first seven days of disease symptoms to be able to use them in people with symptoms. With the agreement between Foment and the Ministry of Health of the Generalitat, the plan has the rapid tests necessary for the development of the project with the required guarantees.

The Catalan Association of Assistance Resources (ACRA) will collaborate to be able to reach workers who provide care, while for workers in the meat sector it has the collaboration of the Business Federation of Meat and Meat Industries (FECIC). Workers must go to a Quirón Prevention center, which will be in charge of carrying out the tests.
